• Cofactor: Calcium
• Function: May mediate ATP-independent transbilayer migration of phospholipids upon calcium binding, contributing to loss of phospholipid asymmetry. Plays roles in fibrin clot formation, mast cell activation, and recognition of apoptotic/ injured cells.
• Antiviral Response: May amplify interferon (IFN)-mediated antiviral gene expression and contribute to cytokine-regulated proliferation and differentiation.
• Induction: Phosphorylation by PKC; induced by IFNB1 in response to viral infection.
• PTM: Known to be palmitoylated at one undefined site.
• Similarity: Belongs to the phospholipid scramblase family.
• Subunit Interaction: Interacts with ABL.
