Target Information
NMYC interactor (NMI) encodes a protein that interacts with NMYC and CMYC (members of the Myc oncogene family) and other transcription factors containing Zip, HLH, or HLH-Zip motifs.
NMI also interacts with all STATs except STAT2 and enhances STAT-mediated transcription in response to cytokines IL2 and IFN-gamma.
NMI mRNA shows low expression in most human tissues except brain and is highly expressed in certain cancer cell lines, particularly myeloid leukemias.
