Target Information
Apolipoprotein A4 (ApoA-IV) is a plasma protein and an O-linked glycoprotein after proteolytic processing. ApoA4 is a major constituent of HDL and is also found on the surface of newly synthesized chylomicrons.
Although its physiological function is not fully understood, in vitro studies suggest ApoA4 participates in reverse cholesterol transport, moving cholesterol from peripheral cells back to the liver.
