Product Specific Information

This purified antibody is directed against human SUMO Activating Enzyme E1 protein.
BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with SUMO Activating Enzyme E1 proteins from human (100%), bovine, dog, chimpanzee (96%), mouse (93%), and rat (92%) based on sequence homology.
Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.
Target Information
Posttranslational modification of proteins by SUMO (Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier) regulates protein structure and intracellular localization.
SAE1 and UBA2 form a heterodimer functioning as a SUMO-activating enzyme for protein sumoylation (Okuma et al., 1999).
