Target Information
UPF3B는 mRNA 핵 내 수출 및 감시 과정에 관여하는 스플라이싱 후 다단백질 복합체의 구성 요소입니다. 이 단백질은 yeast Upf3p의 두 가지 기능적 상동체 중 하나로, mRNA에 결합한 후 핵 수출 후에도 결합 상태를 유지하며 핵-세포질 셔틀 단백질로 작용합니다. Y14와 복합체를 형성하여 엑손-엑손 접합부 20 nt 상류에 특이적으로 결합합니다.
UPF3B 유전자는 X 염색체 장완에 위치하며, 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 두 가지 스플라이스 변형체가 존재합니다.
mRNA 감시 기작은 잘린 개방 읽기틀을 가진 mRNA를 탐지하고 nonsense-mediated mRNA decay(NMD)를 유도합니다. 번역이 마지막 엑손-엑손 접합부보다 상류에서 종료되면 NMD가 유도되어 조기 종결 코돈을 포함하는 mRNA를 분해합니다.
