Product Specific Information

The LN3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human MHC class II molecule HLA-DR. HLA-DR is expressed on antigen-presenting cells (B cells, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T cells). It plays a key role in peptide presentation to CD4⁺ T lymphocytes.

Target Information

HLA-DR is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).

• DRA gene has 5 exons; Exons 2–3 encode extracellular domains.
• DRB chain contains polymorphisms determining peptide-binding specificity.
• Hundreds of DRB1 alleles are known and are used in transplantation typing.
• Expressed on antigen-presenting cells: B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, activated T cells.
• MHC class II molecules (DR, DQ, DP) bind peptides and present them to T-helper cells, initiating immune responses.
• HLA/MHC antibodies are critical in immunopeptidomics for neoantigen identification via LC-MS/MS.
