Target Information

DCAMKL1 (DCLK1), also known as doublecortin-like kinase 1, is a serine/threonine kinase containing:

  • Two N-terminal doublecortin domains (bind microtubules and regulate polymerization)
  • A C-terminal serine/threonine protein kinase domain (homologous to Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent kinase)
  • A serine/proline-rich domain mediating multiple protein-protein interactions

DCAMKL1 is a microtubule-associated kinase capable of autophosphorylation and microtubule polymerization independent of its kinase activity. It plays roles in neuronal migration, retrograde transport, apoptosis, and neurogenesis.
