Target Information
Laminins are a family of extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major noncollagenous constituents of basement membranes. They play roles in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins consist of three non-identical chains (alpha, beta, and gamma; formerly A, B1, and B2) forming a cruciform structure with three short arms and one long arm.
Defects in the LMNB1 gene can cause Leukodystrophy, demyelinating, autosomal dominant, adult-onset (ADLD).
