- Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
- The peptide is homologous in mouse.
- Specificity: Highly specific for mature olfactory neurons (including axon and terminals).
Target Information
Olfactory marker protein (OMP) is an abundant, 19-kDa, cytosolic protein almost exclusively expressed in mature, functioning olfactory neurons but not in neural precursor basal cells.
The OMP gene structure and protein sequence are highly conserved between mouse, rat, and human.
Its tissue-specific expression and knockout study results indicate that OMP acts as a modulatory component of the odor detection/signal transduction cascade.
OMP interacts with BEX1 and BEX2 and is uniquely associated with mature olfactory receptor neurons.
Belongs to the olfactory marker protein family.
