Target Information
PKN2 (PRK2) is a close relative of the PKCs and functions as a regulator of mitosis and cytokinesis. It plays roles in:
- Regulation of cell cycle progression, actin cytoskeleton assembly, and cell migration
- Cell adhesion, tumor cell invasion, and transcription activation signaling
- Phosphorylation of CTTN and HDAC5, affecting actin association and nuclear import
- Acting as a direct RhoA target essential for epithelial junction formation
- Regulation of G2/M phase progression and cytokinesis in an ECT2-dependent manner
- Activation of FYN kinase for skin cell adhesion during keratinocyte differentiation
- Modulation of epithelial bladder cell migration and invasion
- Inhibition of Akt pro-survival kinase activity
- Mediation of Rho protein-induced transcriptional activation via SRF
- Phosphorylation of HCV NS5B, enhancing HCV RNA replication
