PIK3CG (p110 gamma)는 class IB phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase 계열의 유일한 구성원으로, class IA 계열과 함께 중요한 세포 내 신호전달 인자인 PIP2를 생성합니다.
PIK3CG는 주로 GPCR 신호경로 하위에서 작용하며, 세포 간 부착(E-cadherin 매개)에 의한 외부 신호 조절에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 상피세포의 구조적·기능적 통합 유지에 중요하며, NK 세포의 세포독성 조절에도 핵심적 역할을 합니다.
PIK3CG 유전자는 골수성 백혈병에서 발견되는 염색체 7의 결손 영역에 위치합니다.
