Target Information
hCG beta는 인간 융모성 생식선 자극 호르몬(human chorionic gonadotropin, hCG)의 베타 사슬로, 임신 후 10~12일경 태반의 영양막 세포에서 생성되는 40 kDa의 당단백질 호르몬입니다.
hCG는 알파(α) 및 베타(β) 두 개의 비공유 결합된 서브유닛으로 구성됩니다. 알파 서브유닛은 FSH, LH, TSH와 유사하지만, 베타 서브유닛은 각 호르몬의 생물학적 특이성을 결정합니다.
임신 초기 태아 유지에는 hCG가 황체에 결합하여 프로게스테론 생성을 자극함으로써 자궁내막을 유지하는 역할을 합니다.
비임신 상태의 혈청 및 소변에서는 극미량 존재하지만, 임신 시 급격히 증가합니다.
hCG 관련 기능 이상은 임신성 영양막 종양(gestational trophoblastic tumor) 및 포상기태(hydatidiform mole) 등과 관련이 있습니다.
