Carmine
Details
Carmine is a semisynthetic dye, a complex of aluminium and a natural dye carminic acid. Carmine has been used to demonstrate nuclei, chromosomes, mucin and glycogen rich regions in cells depending on formulation. Carmine staining represents an easy, precise and reliable alternative for in vitro cell quantification, avoiding interferences caused by cell components modulable by culture treatments and over a wide range of cell types and cell densities. Staining of glycogen in hepatocytes and other glycogen containing tissues. Histopathology staining of liver biopsies.
