Target Information
The RNF34 gene encodes a protein containing a RINF finger motif, which mediates protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions. RNF34 interacts with DNAJA3/hTid-1, a DnaJ protein involved in apoptosis modulation. Overexpression in HeLa cells confers resistance to TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, suggesting an anti-apoptotic role. RNF34 can be cleaved by caspase-3 during apoptosis induction. Alternatively spliced variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
