Target Information
MSH5 is a member of the mutS family of proteins involved in DNA mismatch repair and meiotic recombination.
It is similar to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae protein that participates in meiotic segregation fidelity and crossing-over.
MSH5 forms heterooligomers with mutS homolog 4 (MSH4).
Alternative splicing results in four transcript variants encoding three different isoforms.
