Target Information
SLC6A13 catalyzes sodium and chloride-dependent transport of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) to terminate GABA-mediated synaptic activity. It functions as a high-affinity GABA transporter, reuptaking GABA into cells using sodium and chloride concentration gradients. Additionally, SLC6A13 may assist in beta-alanine transport.
Diseases associated with SLC6A13 include Traumatic Glaucoma and Neovascular Glaucoma.
