This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Dynein IC1.
Target Information
Eukaryotic cells rely on actin- and microtubule-based protein motors to generate intracellular movements. These motors hydrolyze ATP to produce force and movement along cytoskeletal polymers (actin for myosin, microtubules for kinesin and dynein).
Dynein is involved in cytoplasmic motile functions such as chromosomal movement, retrograde organelle and axonal transport, endocytic pathway regulation, and Golgi apparatus organization.
Dynein typically consists of two or three heavy chains (~450 kDa), three intermediate chains (70–125 kDa), and at least four light chains (15–25 kDa).
