Target Information
Classical swine fever (CSF) is an acute and highly contagious disease in swine that causes significant economic losses in the swine industry. CSF leads to disseminated hemorrhage in organs and tissues, and degeneration and necrosis in small vascular and capillary endothelial cells. The Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) belongs to the genus Pestivirus within the family Flaviviridae. Its genome is approximately 12.3 Kb in length and encodes 11 structural and nonstructural proteins.
