Target Information

ZNF304 acts as a transcriptional regulator and plays a role in gene silencing. It forms a corepressor complex required for KRAS-mediated promoter hypermethylation and transcriptional silencing of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) in colorectal cancer cells.
It maintains a transcriptionally repressive state in undifferentiated embryonic stem cells by inducing H3K27me3 via Polycomb group complexes.
ZNF304 associates with promoter regions of TSGs and recruits TRIM28, DNMT1, SETDB1, and PcG complexes.
It is involved in metastatic processes, promoting cell migration, proliferation, and resistance to anoikis in ovarian carcinoma cells through integrin-mediated signaling.
ZNF304 also positively regulates beta-1 integrin transcription and promotes angiogenesis and tumor growth.
