Target Information
ROR gamma is a 560 amino acid DNA-binding transcription factor belonging to the ROR/RZR orphan nuclear receptor subfamily.
It functions as a ligand-activated transcription factor and plays a critical role in lymphoid organogenesis (lymph nodes, Peyer’s patches) and regulation of apoptosis during thymopoiesis.
ROR gamma inhibits Fas ligand and IL2 expression and directs differentiation of IL-17+ T helper cells.
It shares 50–51% sequence identity with RORA and RORB, and 88% identity with mouse ROR gamma.
Highly expressed in skeletal muscle and at lower levels in other tissues.
