Target Information
Hemopexin is a serum glycoprotein that binds heme and transports it to the liver for breakdown and iron recovery. After heme release, free hemopexin returns to circulation. Structurally, it consists of two similar halves (~200 amino acids each) connected by a histidine-rich hinge region, with each half formed by repeated basic units of 35–45 residues.
