SOX17 (transcription factor SOX-17)은 SRY-related HMG box 계열의 전사인자로, 표적 프로모터 DNA에 결합하여 DNA를 굽히는 전사 조절 인자입니다.
5'-AACAAT-3' 또는 5'-AACAAAG-3' 서열에 결합하며, WNT3A를 통한 전사 조절을 매개하고 Wnt 신호를 억제합니다.
활성화된 CTNNB1의 분해를 촉진하며, 배아 발달 조절에 필수적 역할을 하며 심장관 형성과 장내배엽 발달에 관여합니다.
SOX17 유전자 변이는 방광요관역류(vesicoureteral reflux)를 유발할 수 있습니다.
