ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain with Thrombospondin type-1 modules)는 아연 의존성 단백질분해효소 계열로, 관절염 및 암을 포함한 다양한 생리적·병리적 과정에 관여합니다.
배아 발생, 형태학적 성장 변화, 염증, 종양 침윤 및 전이는 세포외기질의 분해 및 재구조화를 포함하며, 이는 MMPs(기질 금속단백질분해효소)와 관련된 ADAMTS 아형에 의해 매개됩니다.
ADAMTS 단백질은 N-말단 프로펩타이드 도메인, 금속단백질분해효소 도메인, 디스인터그린 유사 도메인 및 다양한 수의 thrombospondin type-1 (TSP-1) 모티프를 포함하는 C-말단을 가지고 있습니다.
ADAMTS 유전자는 주로 폐, 신장, 간 등 태아 조직에서 발현되며, 인간 ADAMTS10 유전자는 염색체 19p13.3에, ADAMTS19 유전자는 염색체 5q31에 위치합니다.
