Target Information
RUSC1 (also known as NESCA) shares with RUSC2 a common domain structure including RUN, leucine zipper, and SH3 domains, with over 30% amino acid identity.
RUSC1 acts as an adapter protein binding to the TrkA receptor and is required for NGF-induced neurite growth in PC12 cells.
It interacts with IKK-γ (regulatory subunit of the IKK complex) involved in NF-κB activation pathways such as TNF-R and TLR signaling.
RUSC1 also binds the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRAF6, mediating its polyubiquitination and modulating NF-κB activation.
