Product Specific Information

The PK136 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse NK1.1, an antigen expressed by natural killer cells and a subset of T cells in NK1.1-positive mouse strains such as C57BL and NZB.
Strains like BALB/c, SJL, AKR, CBA, C3H, and A do not express NK1.1; for these, use monoclonal antibody DX5 (Product #14-5971).

Simultaneous staining of C57BL/6 spleen cells with PK136 and DX5 shows coexpression of both markers by most cells, with some DX5⁺PK136⁻ and DX5⁻PK136⁺ subpopulations.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes; ≤0.5 µg/test recommended.
A test is defined as antibody amount for 100 µL final volume. Adjust cell number empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize titration for best performance.

NK1.1 is a marker for natural killer (NK) cells and some T cell subsets.
The KLRB1 protein, part of the C-type lectin superfamily, includes extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic domains.
It is classified as a type II membrane protein with an external C terminus.
NKR-P1A, encoded by KLRB1, recognizes Lectin Like Transcript-1 (LLT1) as its functional ligand.
