The Non-Human Primate VEGF-D Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures VEGF-D protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits so that you can create your own multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits (i.e., when not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two highly specific antibodies that bind to different epitopes of a protein to quantify multiple targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument. These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver analyzed results within four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids.

In the assay, Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Each bead is conjugated with antibodies specific to a single target protein, and detection is achieved using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the ProcartaPlex assay uses bead-conjugated capture antibodies that remain free-floating in solution. The Luminex instrument employs two lasers—one to identify bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence, correlating with protein concentration. This allows profiling of multiple proteins with less sample volume and time compared to conventional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
