Target Information
P2Y6 belongs to the family of G protein-coupled receptors. This family includes several receptor subtypes with overlapping pharmacological selectivity for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides.
The P2Y6 receptor responds to UDP, partially to UTP and ADP, and not to ATP.
Expression of P2Y6 has been documented in blood cells, bone marrow, brain, colon, heart, kidney, ovary, placenta, spleen, and thymus. ESTs have been isolated from cervix, embryo, eye, kidney, liver/spleen, placenta, and vessel libraries.
