Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

Histone H2A.X (H2AX) is a member of the histone H2A family, forming part of the nucleosome core particle. In eukaryotes, DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) trigger phosphorylation at Ser139, producing gamma-H2AX. This phosphorylation can be detected via Western blot or immunofluorescence to assess DSB frequency.

H2AX phosphorylation involves phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases, including ATM, DNA-PK, and ATR. H2A.X contains 143 amino acids and is synthesized in both G1 and S phases. Two mRNA forms exist: a short replication-type (575 bases) and a longer basal-type (1600 bases). The gene maps to human chromosome 11q23.2–q23.3 and contributes to DNA structural organization and repair through MDC1 interaction.
