Target Information

This gene encodes one of three GA-binding protein transcription factor subunits functioning as a DNA-binding subunit. It shares identity with the nuclear respiratory factor 2 gene, involved in cytochrome oxidase expression and mitochondrial control. It also shares identity with E4TF1, responsible for adenovirus E4 gene expression. Due to its chromosomal localization and heterodimer formation, it may play a role in the Down Syndrome phenotype. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein are known.
