MCHR1은 G protein-coupled receptor family 1에 속하는 막단백질로, melanin-concentrating hormone(MCH)과 결합합니다. 이 단백질은 cAMP 축적을 억제하고 세포 내 칼슘 유입을 자극하며, 식이 조절의 신경 조절에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 구조적으로 somatostatin 수용체와 유사하지만, somatostatin에는 결합하지 않습니다.
