This antibody detects endogenous levels of total ELL.

Target Information

ELL is an elongation factor component of the super elongation complex (SEC), which enhances the catalytic rate of RNA polymerase II transcription by suppressing transient pausing at multiple DNA sites.
It is also a component of the little elongation complex (LEC), required for regulating small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene transcription by RNA polymerase II and III (PubMed:22195968, PubMed:23932780).
ELL specifically stimulates the elongation step of RNA polymerase II- and III-dependent snRNA gene transcription and plays an early role in stabilizing RNA polymerase II recruitment and initiation prior to SEC assembly.
