Target Information
Dyneins are multi-subunit, high molecular weight ATPases that interact with microtubules to generate force by converting ATP into mechanical movement. Cytoplasmic or axonemal Dynein consists of approximately 12 subunits, including heavy chains, intermediate chains, and light chains, and plays essential roles in organelle transport and centrosome assembly.
TCTEX1 is a cytoplasmic dynein light chain found in a complex with Na+ CP type X (SCN10A). TCTEX1D4, also called TCTEX2 beta, interacts with members of the TGF-beta receptor family and, when overexpressed, inhibits TGF-beta signaling.
