Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the kinesin-like protein family. This family includes microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. This protein cross-bridges antiparallel microtubules and drives microtubule movement in vitro. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
