Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of murine CD3 (epsilon subunit). It is commonly used as a phenotypic marker for murine T cells.
Target Information
The CD3 subunit complex is crucial for transducing antigen-recognition signals into the cytoplasm of T cells and for regulating TCR complex expression. CD3 includes gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded on chromosome 11. These subunits associate with cytoplasmic signal transduction molecules through a double tyrosine-based motif. CD3 is expressed on 68–82% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes and 65–85% of thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes are linked to CD3 immunodeficiency.
