Signal-induced proliferation associated-like protein 2 (SIPA1L2)는 SIPA1 family의 RapGAPs에 속합니다. SIPA1L2의 생물학적 역할은 아직 명확하지 않지만, SIPA 단백질의 조절 이상은 마우스에서 조혈 줄기세포 질환을 유발하고 인간 암에서 전이를 증가시킬 수 있음이 보고되었습니다. SIPA1L1은 배아 발달과 세포 증식 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, SIPA family 간의 높은 상동성을 고려할 때 SIPA1L2 역시 배아 발달 및 세포 증식, 암 발생 과정에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다.
