Target Information
Caspr2는 신경계에서 세포 접착 분자 및 수용체로 작용하는 뉴렉신(neurexin) 계열 단백질을 암호화하는 유전자로, EGF 반복 및 라미닌 G 도메인을 포함합니다. 또한 F5/8 type C, discoidin/neuropilin-like, fibrinogen-like, thrombospondin N-terminal-like 도메인과 PDZ 결합 부위를 지닙니다.
이 단백질은 수초화된 축삭의 juxtaparanode 부위에 위치하며, 신경세포와 신경교세포 간 상호작용 및 칼륨 채널의 위치 조절에 관여합니다. Caspr2 유전자는 인간 염색체 7의 약 1.5%를 차지하는 가장 큰 유전자 중 하나로, FOXP2 전사인자에 의해 직접 조절되며 언어 및 인지 발달과 연관되어 있습니다.
이 유전자는 Gilles de la Tourette 증후군, 정신분열증, 간질, 자폐증, ADHD, 지적 장애 등 다양한 신경발달 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
