Target Information
Methadone is a synthetic opioid used as an analgesic and for maintenance therapy in opioid dependency. Chronic methadone therapy is often associated with patients who have underlying chronic viral hepatitis, but methadone itself has not been linked to serum enzyme elevations or clinically apparent liver injury.
