Target Information
BTLA (B and T-lymphocyte attenuator) is a member of the co-inhibitory receptors of the CD28 superfamily.
It acts as a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor, regulating immune responses by inhibiting lymphocyte activation.
BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, with expression decreasing upon activation.
It remains expressed on Th1 cells but not Th2 cells.
BTLA interacts with HVEM (herpesvirus entry mediator), a TNF receptor superfamily member, forming an important pathway for lymphocyte activation and immune homeostasis.
