Target Information

HMGB2 encodes a member of the non-histone chromosomal high mobility group protein family. These chromatin-associated proteins are distributed in the nucleus of higher eukaryotic cells. HMGB2 can bend DNA and form DNA circles, facilitating cooperative interactions between cis-acting proteins by promoting DNA flexibility. It is also involved in the final ligation step of DNA end-joining during double-strand break repair and V(D)J recombination.
