This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, porcine, non-human primate, and rat based on sequence homology.


Target Information

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme in the glycolytic pathway that converts pyruvate to lactate with concomitant interconversion of NADH and NAD⁺. In mammals, the enzyme is encoded by three genes: LDHA (M form), LDHB (H form), and LDHC (X form).
The three human LDHs share 84–89% sequence similarity and 69–75% amino acid identity. There are five LDH isoenzymes based on the ratio of M and H chains in the tetrameric structure.
LDHA is hypoxia-inducible and regulated by the transcriptional activity of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF1α). LDHB is also upregulated in many cancers. Mutations in the LDHA gene can cause Glycogen storage disease 11 (GSD11).
