Target Information
CD90 (Thy1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein and a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. CD90 plays roles in cell-cell and cell-ligand interactions, particularly during synaptogenesis and neuronal development. It serves as a marker for various stem cells and axonal processes of mature neurons. Structural studies of CD90 contributed to defining the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the characterization of vertebrate GPI anchors. Dysfunctions of CD90 are associated with diseases such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
