Description

Viva columns are based on a wide-pore material designed for optimal large-molecule separations. Many commercial wide-pore silicas meet the 300 Å mean pore size but have broad pore distributions, leaving much of the surface area inaccessible to large molecules. Viva silica has a narrow pore size distribution, allowing more surface area to participate in separations.

Since 2005, the Restek Biphenyl phase has provided greater dispersion and polarizability than conventional phenyl or phenyl hexyl phases, resulting in higher selectivity and broader usability. These enhanced interactions increase retention, especially for dipolar, unsaturated, or conjugated solutes, and improve orthogonal selectivity when using methanol mobile phases. Ideal for increasing sensitivity and selectivity in LC-MS analyses.
