Target Information
Glucagon receptors are G-protein coupled receptors for glucagon and play a central role in the regulation of blood glucose levels and glucose homeostasis. They regulate hepatic glucose production by promoting glycogen hydrolysis and gluconeogenesis, and are involved in mediating responses to fasting. Ligand binding induces conformational changes that trigger signaling via G-proteins and modulate downstream effector activity.
