Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The superfamily of high molecular weight serine proteinase inhibitors includes PI8 (SERPINB8), a member of the ov-serpin subfamily. Compared to the archetypal serpin PI1 (MIM 107400), SERPINB8 shows:
- High homology to chicken ovalbumin
- Lack of N- and C-terminal extensions
- Absence of a signal peptide
- A serine residue at the penultimate position instead of asparagine
