Dengue fever와 dengue hemorrhagic fever는 열성 질환으로, 주로 열대 지역과 아프리카에서 발생합니다. Flavivirus 속의 4가지 serotype 중 하나에 의해 발생하며, 각 serotype 간 교차 면역이 없어 다중 serotype에 의한 유행이 발생할 수 있습니다. Dengue는 낮 동안 흡혈하는 Aedes aegypti(드물게 Aedes albopictus) 모기에 의해 사람에게 전파됩니다.
