Target Information
CSK (C-terminal Src kinase) is a tyrosine kinase that downregulates SRC oncoprotein activity by phosphorylating its carboxy terminus. Disruption of this phosphorylation can lead to cell transformation, suggesting CSK may function as an antioncogene.
CSK is involved in regulating cell growth, differentiation, migration, and immune responses. It phosphorylates tyrosine residues in the C-terminal tails of Src-family kinases such as LCK, SRC, HCK, FYN, LYN, CSK, and YES1.
CSK is ubiquitously expressed as a ~50 kDa cytosolic protein, with a fraction localized to lipid rafts via interaction with PAG (Csk-binding protein).
