Target Information
FNDC4 acts as an anti-inflammatory factor in the intestine and colon. It binds to and acts on macrophages to downregulate pro-inflammatory gene expression. It affects macrophage functions such as phagocytosis by downregulating key activation pathways, partly via STAT3 activation and signaling. FNDC4 may be required to dampen the immune response in colitis.
