Target Information

DnaJ heat shock induced proteins originate from Escherichia coli and are regulated by the htpR regulatory protein. These proteins play a critical role in the HSP70 chaperone system by interacting with HSP70 to stimulate ATP hydrolysis. They contain cysteine-rich zinc finger regions forming a peptide-binding domain responsible for chaperone function. DnaJ proteins mediate proteolysis and regulate protein degradation, exocytosis, and endocytosis.
DnaJB4 (DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 4), also known as HLJ1, is expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, and pancreas, with lower expression in brain, placenta, and liver.
