Target Information
Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), also known as Fetuin A, is a serum glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes. The AHSG molecule consists of two polypeptide chains cleaved from a single mRNA-encoded proprotein. It is involved in multiple biological processes such as endocytosis, brain development, and bone tissue formation. AHSG is commonly found in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and the bone marrow hemopoietic matrix, suggesting its potential role in tissue development, although its precise function remains unclear.
