Target Information
The MAK gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase related to kinases involved in cell cycle regulation. It is expressed predominantly in testis germ cells. In mouse and rat, it localizes to chromosomes during meiosis, specifically to the synaptonemal complex. Some studies also report expression in developing sensory epithelia, suggesting a broader function.
